We exist to be a people who embody the beauty of the Gospel for the good of the City to the glory of God.
We hold to seven distinct values:
Through the disobedience of Adam and Eve in the garden, sin and evil polluted God’s good creation and divided our hearts as well, yet, God did not give up on His creation and He sent His Son, Jesus of Nazareth, to bring about and proclaim the Gospel. The Gospel or ‘good news’ announces God becoming King again over His creation. Through Jesus’ life of obedience, atoning sacrifice on the cross, and His victorious resurrection from the dead, God has become King again and brings life, restoration, and hope to all who confess and believe ‘Jesus is Lord.’ Through this good news, God transforms lives and communities, bringing about reconciliation with God and one another, and leading us to follow Jesus on the way of the cross—the way of self-giving, sacrificial love. The gospel is not just simply a way of individual salvation; it's much more than that. It is God’s means for the renewal of all of human life and culture and all creation.
We are committed to surrendering our lives to the authority of God our Father, through Jesus the Son, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thus, we surrender to the Holy Scriptures-God’s written and inspired Word, and we are committed to the preaching and teaching of it as well as to the public reading of these Scriptures in our worship.
God’s Word “is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, and it pierces to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and marrow and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12) Therefore, we believe that the Word of God changes us as we read it, hear it, study it, and believe it.
"God sets the lonely in families" (Psalm 68:6). We believe in the transforming power of the gospel for a particular place, through Christians loving their neighbors, proclaiming God’s Word, and engaging in spiritual warfare against the idols to which people are enslaved. This city and the world will know that we are Christians by our love.
Therefore, We are committed to welcoming and accepting anyone who wants to explore and experience the life-changing truth of Jesus Christ and to seeing that everyone is engaged in community of the life of our church.
Prayer through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit invigorates the life of the church.
Therefore, we expect that God will be powerfully present to heal, equip, and transform our lives – whenever and wherever we meet together. We expect that God will hear our prayers and that the witness and work of the church will flow from our individual and corporate communication with Him.
We are a liturgical church. Our services follow the same basic outline of worship gatherings since the days of the earliest Christians. At the same time, we fill in the details of the service with the music and language of the present. Each Sunday, the Lord Jesus gathers with us to forgive our sins, speak to us through his Word, listen to our prayers, and feed us at his table before sending us out once more to serve him in the world. As we inhabit the gospel together, our services are marked by joyful reverence and warm transcendence.
Jesus is risen from the dead, and so someday our city and communities will no longer be filled with brokenness, but will be a place where Jesus reigns fully. Our church prays and works together for the transformation of Rock Hill and surrounding communities through the love of Christ. We long to see healthy, gospel-centered churches in every community throughout the Piedmont, and so we are committed to being a church plant that plants churches that plant churches.
Seeking the city to come, we actively partner with other gospel-centered churches and various organizations to bring about God’s reign for the transformation of the city. We are keenly aware that the renewal of our city requires a movement much larger than any single church, and so we gladly seek to work with others.
